I'm Shahid Yousuf, a Senior Software Engineer based in India with 10+ years of experience designing, building and operating production systems. My core strength is backend engineering: APIs, distributed systems, data pipelines and the cloud infrastructure they run on, delivered with security and observability built in from the start.
I currently work at Axelerant, delivering for clients in cybersecurity, digital media and online gaming. Recent work includes leading a production platform migration from GCP to AWS, bringing dozens of AWS accounts under consistent governance and security guardrails, building a two-way sync between a client portal and Jira, and re-engineering a real-money betting engine in Go for higher throughput and lower memory use.
Outside client work I build my own products. RajyaPrep is a daily exam platform for India's competitive exams that I designed, built and run end to end, and Zuni is a real-time voice AI assistant with a native iOS app and a tool-using backend.
I also work directly with businesses as a freelance engineer or consultant on web applications, AI solutions, cloud infrastructure and security, owning delivery from requirements and planning through deployment, observability and ongoing support.
